Porto AX (previously Porto UX) is an open community founded in 2016 in Porto, Portugal. We run workshops, mentorship programmes and training on human-centred, AI-augmented design, and we maintain the AX Framework — an open methodology for designing Human–AI (Agent) experiences. Porto AX is a Learning Partner of Porto Tech Hub.

Porto AX is a designer-led community exploring the shift from UX to AX (Agent Experience). We bring together practitioners, researchers and students working on human-centred, AI-augmented products. Founded in 2016 as Porto UX and rebranded to Porto AX in 2025 to reflect our focus on designing for human–AI collaboration.

AX Framework

The AX Framework is Porto AX's open methodology for designing Human–AI (Agent) experiences. It covers principles, canvases and patterns for shaping interactions between people and AI agents across products and services.

Mentorship

AX Mentorship is a programme for designers and product people moving into AI-era practice, pairing mentees with experienced practitioners from the Porto AX community.

Community & Events

We run meetups, talks and workshops in Porto and online, and collaborate with partners across the Portuguese and European design and tech ecosystem.
